A withdrawal may process as a Check for any of the following reasons:
1. There are no valid, active payment methods on file.
If there are no payment methods on file or the payment methods on file haven't been used to deposit into WorldWinner within a certain period of time, the payment processing system will not have a payment method to process a credit/refund to.
2. The player has withdrawn more than what they had deposited into their WorldWinner account using a Credit/Debit Card or Apple Pay account. (Does not apply to players who have used a PayPal account or Venmo account to deposit into WorldWinner.)
Per the agreements with Credit/Debit Card providers and Apple Pay, a player may receive Cash credits/refunds up to the amount that has been deposited with a business.
For example, Player "A" deposits $10 into their WorldWinner account using their Visa Credit Card, wins $50 in WorldWinner tournaments and requests a withdrawal of $30 from their WorldWinner account. The payment processing system will issue a credit/refund of $10 to the Visa Credit Card and the remaining $20 ($30 - $10=$20) would be processed as a Check.
Check withdrawals may take up to 8 weeks for processing and delivery to the address on file.
To avoid potentially having to receive withdrawals as a Check, it is recommended that players fund their WorldWinner account using a PayPal account or Venmo account. PayPal and Venmo do not have the same deposit/withdrawal restrictions that Credit/Debit Cards or Apple Pay adhere to.
For example, Player "B" deposits $10 into their WorldWinner account using a PayPal account as their deposit method, wins $50 in cash tournaments, and withdraws $30 from their WorldWinner account. The full $30 withdrawal would credit/refund back to the PayPal account and no Check would need to be processed.
