Game Goal
Place blocks anywhere on a 10x10 grid and try to clear as many lines as possible while going for streaks and combos for bonus points! If you are unable to place anymore blocks, your game will end, and your score will be tallied up!
Game Rules
Block Trail starts with a 10x10 grid of squares. You are then able to drag and drop block pieces from the queue that is outside the grid to anywhere you want on the grid. The range of blocks varies from simple 1x1 squares to L-Shaped blocks and even 3x3 squares! You are only able to place blocks in empty squares on the grid and once they are placed, the block cannot be moved. Thinking ahead and strategizing can help as you are unable to rotate the blocks.
You can earn points by placing the blocks onto the grid, each size of the blocks increasing in increments starting at 5 points for a 1x1 block. You can gain more points through clearing lines alongside making streaks and combos when either more than one line is cleared or when you consecutively clear line after line.
The game will end if the timer runs out or if you are unable to place down anymore blocks onto the grid. When you run into a situation where you are unable to place any blocks on the grid, the game will immediately end and then tally up your final score.
Game Controls
Click and hold a block option to select it. It will become able to be moved to the board and the option for that block will be removed from the list of three blocks for now, unless you let go of the block before it gets to the board. Next, drag and drop the block onto a position on the board to place it and gain the points for placing the block.
Game Scoring
Any combo larger than six, you will earn 5,000 points plus 1,000 points per line.
Tips:
- Position pieces strategically to clear multiple lines with a single drop.
- Go for streaks. The higher the streaks, the higher the bonus!
- Use the undo button to see the next set of pieces and plan accordingly.
- In the beginning, try to place pieces on one side so the board doesn't get cluttered.
- Make sure you always have space for a 3x3 or 1x5 so you don’t run out of moves!
- Going for streaks instead of combos may net you more points.
- Find the balance between playing fast and smart, strategic placements.
