Overview
Payline Slots is a skill-based slots game that incorporates the exciting bonus features of traditional slot machines. It offers players the opportunity to master its mechanics to outperform the competition and win real money!
The objective of the game is to form paylines by aligning five identical symbols in adjacent spaces across the reels. Paylines can be formed horizontally or diagonally, provided the symbols are touching. Symbol values are tiered: Poker symbols award the least points, Cats and Fish award moderate points, and Buddha symbols award the most points! Securing a payline that contains a powerup symbol allows the player to utilize that powerup for additional scoring potential.
The game also features minigames. Lucky Cat symbols appear in the reels, and collecting them levels up the Lucky Bonus Cat. Upon leveling up, the cat changes form, initiating a "Tap To Stop Minigame" where a powerup can be earned. The appearance of a second minigame is also possible, though rare.
Basics
Each game begins with a predetermined number of spins and a time limit to achieve the highest possible score from paylines.
While symbols are randomly assorted during each spin, the player is provided with 7 nudges. These nudges can be used to adjust each reel (up or down) to strategically improve paylines.
Once the board configuration is satisfactory, pressing “Collect” scores the current paylines and any additional bonuses gained. This action consumes one spin. Players may tap the screen to expedite the scoring animation.
Scoring Values
- 5 Poker symbols: 10,000 points.
- 5 Cats and Fish symbols: 15,000 points.
- 5 Buddha symbols: 20,000 points.
Symbol List
Health Bar
The Dragon’s Health Bar, visible as a green bar with purple indicators at the top of the screen, tracks the dragon's damage. Scoring points reduces the dragon's health proportionate to the points scored. Each time the health bar decreases past a purple indicator (reaching a damage threshold), the player is granted an extra spin, extending gameplay. Depleting the dragon’s health completely gives three bonus spins!
Bonus spins are earned when the following point thresholds are reached:
- 50,000
- 150,000
- 350,000
- 650,000
- 1,000,000
Powerups
A shiny red frame around a symbol indicates the presence of a powerup. Powerups are acquired through minigames or by collecting paylines that contain framed symbols.
Powerups offer powerful benefits. Some activate automatically upon collection, while others are stored in the player's inventory, allowing for strategic use to maximize points.
Lucky Cat
The Lucky Bonus Cat is located at the top of the screen. Collecting a Lucky Cat symbol in the reels (which resembles the bonus cat) awards a coin to the bonus cat. These symbols do not need to be on a payline; they only need to be fully visible in the reels.
The Lucky Cat displays a coin showing the number of coins required to level up. Upon leveling up, the cat gains bonus points, changes its form, and initiates a minigame.
During this minigame, the cat moves to the center of the screen, presenting giant powerup symbols and three horizontally spinning reels. If the player successfully stops each reel to complete the image of one of the giant powerup symbols, they receive that powerup as a reward.
This Tap to Stop minigame can be played 5 times by leveling up the cat. Once this is achieved, collecting further cat symbols will no longer have an effect, but cat symbols will be worth double points when scored on a payline.
Cats Needed for each Lucky Cat Level:
- 5 cats
- 8 cats
- 10 cats
- 12 cats
- 14 cats
The Ultimate Minigame
Occasionally, golden cats will appear and land in the center spaces of the reels.
If only two golden cats appear, they will revert to regular reel cats. However, if all three golden cats land in the center spaces, the ultimate minigame will be triggered.
The Grab 3 minigame will appear, challenging the player to collect three of the same symbol type without overflowing their holding area. Successfully completing this challenge can lead to substantial bonus points and powerups.
Game Modes
Vegas Mode
Vegas Mode is designed for players seeking a game experience closer to traditional slot machines. Nudging is disabled, but the mode features a high density of powerups, and players begin with three powerups.
This mode is faster-paced due to a shorter time limit, fewer spins, and quicker spin speeds without nudging. Despite the accelerated pace, this mode requires the same level of skill as Standard Mode.
Vegas - Survivor
Vegas - Survivor is an accelerated version of Vegas Mode played exclusively in elimination-style Survivor tournaments. Players compete against a group of top WorldWinner competitors for the highest score. In each round, approximately half of the entrants are eliminated. This continues until only one player remains.
Conclusion
Payline Slots distinguishes itself as a premier skill-based slots experience, where strategic decision-making dictates success. Mastery of the core mechanics—including the use of nudges, the strategic deployment of acquired powerups, and successful completion of the Tap to Stop and Grab 3 minigames—is essential for achieving high scores. With distinct modes such as Vegas Mode and the competitive Vegas - Survivor format, Payline Slots offers varied challenges designed to test player skill and competitive strategy. By understanding these rules and mastering the game's features, players are positioned to maximize their scoring potential and dominate the competition.
